THE NEW YORK TIMES LIKES THE FOG MOUND!
Or at least Larry Doyle does. He wrote a really nice review that was in the May 11, 2008 issue of the New York Times Book Review.
WEBSITE INTERVIEW
On the occasion of the publication of Simon's Dream, the third volume of our FOG MOUND TRILOGY, Jon Buller was interviewed by Zack Smith for Newsarama, a website devoted to comics and things comics-related. Although the interview was conducted over the phone, we were later sent a transcript. This offered the chance to improve the word choice and syntax, but we thought this might be cheating, so we left it as it was originally spoken. Warning: In the course of the interview, some details of the plot are revealed. Here is the link.
TOAD ON THE ROAD IN WEST HARTFORD
This is a picture from Jon Buller's June 18 visit to The Charter Oak Academy in West Hartford. It's not as easy as it looks to tell a story like this while drawing pictures without getting any ink on your pants.

BULLER'S TAROT
I (Jon Buller speaking now) sometimes feel in need of a warm-up exercise before starting to apply the watercolor to one of our children's books, and eventually got into the habit of turning out a tarot card or two before getting down to work. I have always been intrigued by the symbolism of the traditional tarot deck, although I have not hesitated to fool around with this symbolism to suit my own fancy. THANKS, MISS ERIN
Susan schade was busy watching a mystery on BBCAmerica, so Jon Buller got to answer the interview questions from Miss Erin, a teen blogger from Idaho. If you would like to read this interview, it is only a click away.

DVE-TV is the school television station of the Delaware Valley Elementary School in Milford, Pennsylvania. Roxanne Kimble, who was one of the reporters for DVE-TV, sent Jon Buller a list of questions in 1998. These questions, and Jon Buller's answers, were read by Roxanne in a live morning broadcast. One of our best friends is Bill Griffith, the cartoonist who does the syndicated comic strip Zippy the Pinhead. Bill had the idea that it would be fun to do a weeklong series of strips in which Zippy enters the Buller-Schade universe. Bill started off each strip, and then we passed them back and forth until they were done. These strips will live forever in cartoon history! Click below to see the results.
